Alison Lowther de Cotta

Alison set up Mortgage Matters Spain in response to increasing demand from clients for more guidance in the process of purchasing their property in Spain alongside the need for a bespoke and truly independent service from a firm that puts the client first.

Alison has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and has spent almost 20 years in International Private Banking and has worked for large institutions such as Banco Santander, Credit Suisse and Societe Generale Hambros, so she has a wealth of experience in financial services, top end customer service and in tailor-made recommendations for her clients.

Alison is a fully qualified UK Mortgage Advisor (CeMAP) and she also qualified as a Certified Financial Advisor (CeFA) from The London Institute of Banking & Finance. She has recently successfully completely the new Spanish Mortgage Intermediary exams (ICI), which are recognised by the Bank of Spain, which is the Spanish regulator. This means that she is in the unique position of being a dual qualified Mortgage Advisor to both UK and Spanish standards.

We are very proud to announce that Alison has now been inscribed on the Bank of Spain’s Authorised Mortgage Intermediary list under number D154.

Alison also holds an MA (Hons) degree from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. She is fluent in Spanish and French and so is well placed to deal with international clients of all nationalities.

Alison has spent the last several years specializing in arranging mortgages and finance for expatriate clients who wish to buy a property in Spain. Mortgage Matters Spain is there to guide their clients right through the whole buying process from beginning to end, coordinating with all parties involved in the purchase process and ensuring that things go as smoothly as possible for the client. Alison and her small trusted and experienced team offer a bespoke service in a friendly professional and reliable manner ensuring that the client’s needs always come first.
